CSSM MB Summer Missionary Manual - Friendship 3

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE

2nd NIGHT (MONDAY)

The second night is a little easier because the campers know the activity, the rules and that they must abide by them. The purpose of tonight is for the campers to see their cabin mates and others at camp in a positive manner. Generally people have the tendency to see others negatively and with a spirit of criticism. Many are so adapted to being negative that they do not realize they are. We need to help each other cultivate a positive. friendly and caring attitude to others.

ACTIVITY

Give each camper the opportunity to say something positive about each camper. For example: have each camper in turn going around the circle say something they like about camper "A". When everyone has said something then each one can say something they like about Camper "B". Until everyone has said something nice about everyone else. They could say something like "I like their smile. When I see Camper A smile then I want to smile." or "Camper A encouraged me to play the games well." "Camper A showed me what being a friend was all about at tuck time." "or Camper A did not yell at me for being the last in the line up".

BIBLE PASSAGES.

Read these passages. There is no need to give too much personal thoughts over them
1. John 15:11-17
2. I John 4:7-11

PRAYER

Give time to each one in the circle to pray a short prayer giving thanks for each one of their cabin mates and others at the camp. An example prayer could be 'Thank you Lord for bring Camper A to be in my cabin so that we can be friends."
