CSSM MB Summer Missionary Manual - General 2

YOU AS A CHRISTIAN AMBASSADOR

Did you ever think that you might one day be an ambassador?  Well, you are already!  Paul said, “We are ambassadors for Christ...” (2 Cor. 5:20)  Our entire lives should be lived in the light of the fact that we are His representatives here on earth.  During this summer you will be representing the Lord Jesus through your involvement with C.S.S.M. Ministries.  Here are some things we would like you to remember:

  • At Camp
  • On the first day, as campers arrive by car, you will be called to the office to meet them and their parents.  Remember that first impressions are lasting.  Be friendly, courteous and sensitive to both the camper and their parents.
  • During camp, many people visit us. Be friendly and go out of your way to introduce yourself to them and let them know what you are doing at camp.  If you see a visitor wandering alone, be sure to ask them if you can help.
  • There are many people serving the Lord here at camp.  All are serving for the same purpose.  Develop the spirit of a servant for everyone on the property.  No one is better than any one else here at camp… let’s not forget that!
  • Off the Property
    • On your day off, display the character qualities that you are striving for at camp.  In town, in the stores and on the street, your attitudes and actions will reflect the spirit of Christ – if they are Christ-like!  Don’t let group pressure sway you from the high ideals you have set for yourself.
    • On any off-camp function, the rules and regulations of camp are not altered under any circumstances.  (Ex. No swimming after dark, no swimming without adequate supervision, curfews, etc.)
    • All properties that you camp on are to be treated like camp property.  No trees are to be cut down, no new fireplaces created, and the property should be left cleaner than when you got there.
